President Tinubu Urges Restraint in Legislature for Efficiency and Good Governance

President Bola Tinubu recently called for restraint in the exercise of the legislature’s oversight functions on the executive arm of government, emphasizing the importance of efficiency, good governance, and accountability in Nigeria.

The President made these remarks while breaking the Ramadan fast with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and other House leaders on Wednesday in Abuja.

Tinubu acknowledged the harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislature since his assumption of office, which has resulted in the passage of several bills aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

He also commended the National Assembly for upholding good governance and urged the legislators to continue supporting his administration.

During the event, President Tinubu also addressed the recent killing of soldiers on national duty in Delta State.

He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and pledged that their sacrifices would never be in vain.

He called for unity in the nation and support for his administration, emphasizing the importance of working together for the progress of the country.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas highlighted the importance of forgiveness, generosity, and prayers during Ramadan, urging the nation to unite and support President Tinubu.

He also reflected on the 10 months of the administration, noting the continued synergy between the executive and the legislature for the progress of Nigeria.
