Lagos police arrested 147 suspected hoodlums in a sweeping statewide operation to crack down on crime and boost security. The security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the arrests on X, citing sources familiar with the ongoing boundary sweep mission called "Operation Ko Si Aye," which moved into Phase III on Saturday.
According to Makama, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Lawal Adeshina, led the exercise across multiple locations in Lagos simultaneously. The operation kicked off around 6:00 a.m. as part of the command's push to eliminate criminal elements from communities across the state.
Officers recovered unspecified items believed connected to criminal activity during the raids. All 147 suspects remain in police custody undergoing profiling as investigations progress, Makama said.
Police confirmed the suspects will face charges in court once investigations wrap up. The operation reflects the command's commitment to sustained crime-fighting efforts throughout Lagos.
