Sylvanus Ukafia, the PFN's national publicity secretary, made the announcement on Saturday in Abuja. He said the prayer program will run from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24, 2026.
The dates align with Global Pentecost Day. According to Ukafia, the timing draws from biblical instruction in 2 Chronicles 7:14, which emphasizes humility, prayer, and repentance for national healing.
A PFN National Executive Council meeting on May 8 birthed the decision. Council members expressed deep concern over Nigeria's current trajectory during that session.
Insecurity remains widespread across communities and worship centers. Many Nigerians struggle with economic hardship while political tensions simmer ahead of upcoming elections.
The fellowship wants all Christian denominations to participate in this prayer effort. Church leaders, pastors, youth, women, and believers nationwide have been asked to join.
Friday and Saturday will focus on home and church-based prayers. Believers are encouraged to fast and intercede within their local assemblies during these two days.
