PDP’s Resilience Against Adversity Commended by Farah, Praises Atiku’s Sacrifice

The resilience of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against adversity has been commended by former Rivers State National Assembly member, Dagogo Farah, following the outcome of the 98th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Amid speculations that the meeting was focused on navigating leadership transitions, particularly in the North Central Zone after the departure of Iyiorchia Ayu, Farah praised the timely sacrifices made by party members with the PDP’s interests at heart.

In a statement released on Thursday, Farah expressed optimism that Acting Chairman Umar Damagum would realize by the adjourned August meeting that it is in the best interest of the party for him to step down and allow for a more purposeful and result-oriented leadership.

Farah credited the political maturity of leaders like Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for averting crises within the party.

He emphasized that the outcome of the NEC Meeting was a win-win situation, with the party emerging stronger despite the odds.

The PDP’s decision to retain Damagum as Acting Chairman was seen as a move to prevent the party from imploding, a situation that some individuals with personal political ambitions may have sought.

However, thanks to the political maturity and sagacity of party leaders, including Atiku, the PDP has navigated these challenges successfully.

Farah’s statement highlights the importance of unity and cooperation within the PDP as it seeks to address its leadership and direction issues.

It also underscores the crucial role played by the party’s leaders in maintaining stability and ensuring that the PDP remains a strong political force in Nigeria.
