PDP’s Criticism of Tinubu’s Administration: Presidency Responds With Economic and Security Achievements

The Presidency, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has responded to the criticism by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding the administration’s handling of the country’s economic policies and security situation.

The PDP had criticized the government for its “insensitive” approach to the challenges facing Nigeria, but the Presidency has highlighted the significant achievements of the Tinubu administration in both economic and security sectors.

In a statement released on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, refuted the PDP’s accusations, stating that the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) members must have been living on another planet to overlook the “stellar” achievements of the administration in less than a year.

Onanuga emphasized the government’s efforts to tackle the country’s problems head-on and move towards a solid economic foundation.

The Presidency pointed out the significant improvement in the country’s economic situation, citing the performance of the national currency as the world’s best performing, appreciating by almost 50 percent against the dollar in a few weeks.

Additionally, the government has taken steps to address the security challenges facing the nation, with notable progress in combating terrorism and violence across various regions.

Despite the PDP’s claim that the administration is moving towards a one-party state, Onanuga assured that President Tinubu has no such plan, and it only exists in the imagination of the opposition party.

The Presidency called on the PDP to focus on addressing its internal issues and recognize the positive impact of the current government’s policies on the country.

As the debate between the two major political parties continues, the Tinubu administration remains committed to improving the economic and security situation in Nigeria.

The government’s response to the PDP’s criticism highlights the progress made so far and its determination to continue working towards a better future for the nation.
