PDP Slams Oyebanji Over Bloated Cabinet, Accuses Him of Wasting State Resources

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has strongly criticized Governor Biodun Oyebanji for allegedly wasting the state’s resources on a large number of political appointees.

This criticism comes in response to the recent appointment of over 110 Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Technical Advisors by the state government.

According to a statement released by the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Raphael Adeyanju, the governor has turned the state into a “poverty alleviation center” for his party members, neglecting the needs of ordinary citizens who are struggling to survive under the current economic conditions.

Adeyanju noted that Governor Oyebanji already had an over-bloated cabinet, with more than 21 commissioners and 14 Special Advisers, before the recent appointments.

He accused the governor of prioritizing the enrichment of his party faithfuls over the welfare of the state’s residents.

The PDP spokesperson also claimed that Oyebanji has abandoned governance for politicking and failed to fulfill the electoral promises he made to the people of Ekiti.

He argued that the best way for the governor to prepare for a re-election is to win the trust of the electorate by providing quality leadership and implementing life-enhancing projects and people-oriented programs.

Furthermore, Adeyanju pointed out the current economic hardship and the surge in insecurity in the state as evidence of the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government at both the national and state levels.

The opposition party’s criticism of Governor Oyebanji’s administration highlights the growing concern over the management of state resources and the prioritization of political patronage over the welfare of the citizens.

As the situation in Ekiti State continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the governor will respond to these allegations and address the concerns raised by the PDP.
