PDP Slams Governor Oyebanji over Excessive Appointees and Misplaced Priorities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has expressed strong disapproval of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s recent appointment of over 110 Special Assistants (SAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and Technical Advisors (TAs), labeling it as a wasteful exercise that diverts the state’s resources from addressing pressing issues such as economic hardship and insecurity.

The PDP criticized the governor for engaging in what they called “stupid exercise” in a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Raphael Adeyanju.

They argued that the appointment of such a large number of aides is a ploy to enrich party members while neglecting the needs of the general population.

Adeyanju pointed out that Governor Oyebanji already had an over-bloated cabinet with over 21 commissioners and 14 Special Advisers, and that these appointments were made at the expense of the welfare of the people of Ekiti.

The PDP spokesperson claimed that the governor has abandoned governance in favor of politicking and has failed to fulfill his electoral promises.

The PDP further accused the governor of preparing for a second term without first meeting the aspirations of the electorate.

They argued that the best way to win the trust of the electorates is by providing quality leadership and life-enhancing projects, rather than seeking the endorsement of sycophants and enemies of the masses.

The opposition party urged Governor Oyebanji to prioritize the needs of the people over political ambitions and to focus on delivering on his promises to the citizens of the state.
