Ondo State to Recruit 2,000 Teachers for Education Boost

The government of Ondo State has announced plans to recruit at least 2,000 teachers into the state civil service.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa made the announcement on Friday at the inauguration of the late Rosa Jane Pelly’s legacy project at Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School in Akure.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Olayide Adelami, emphasized that education remains a top priority for the Aiyedatiwa administration.

He highlighted the positive results of their substantial investments in the education sector, noting that students from the state are now excelling on both national and international platforms.

“Ondo State is now a force to be reckoned with in the education sector,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated. ”

We have recently approved the recruitment of 2,000 teachers into both our primary and secondary schools to inject new blood into our schools.”

The Governor also announced the state government’s approval of N550 million for the registration of students in state-owned secondary schools for the 2024 WAEC examination.

He commended Miss Jane Pelly, the pioneer principal of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, for her contributions to education in the state.

At the event, the Principal of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Temitope Ojoge, expressed gratitude to the state government and the donor for their support in the development of education in the state.

She emphasized that the establishment of the school symbolizes progress, growth, resilience, and determination.

The decision by the Ondo State government to recruit 2,000 teachers is a clear indication of its commitment to investing in the education sector.

This move is expected to further enhance the state’s reputation as a leader in education, both nationally and internationally.
