Ondo APC Leaders Accuse Governor Aiyedatiwa of Producing Fake Membership Slips

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership has accused Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of producing fake party membership registers and cards ahead of the party’s primary scheduled for April 20th.

The Ondo Vanguards for Good Governance, a group within the APC, has alleged that Aiyedatiwa’s supporters may be planning to interfere with the primary election.

The group’s coordinator, Evangelist Tade Ojo, expressed concerns about the governor’s supporters’ efforts to either manipulate the primary election or undermine its credibility, predicting an impending defeat.

Ojo called on the national leadership of the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevent Aiyedatiwa and his supporters from disrupting the primary election.

However, the spokesperson for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), Kayode Fasua, dismissed the allegations as baseless, attributing them to “jittery aspirants” financed by unknown sources.

Fasua emphasized that the primary election is an internal affair of the APC and that the party leadership is independent of government.

He also refuted claims of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s involvement in acts of violence or vandalism, citing the absence of police complaints or arrests.

Fasua advised the accusers to relax and suggested that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s hard work has surpassed their efforts.

The allegations and counter-allegations have raised concerns about the integrity of the upcoming primary election and the potential impact on the party’s unity and electoral chances in the state.

As the political tension within the Ondo APC escalates, it remains to be seen how the national leadership of the party will address these allegations and ensure a fair and transparent primary election.

The outcome of the primary will not only determine the party’s candidate for the upcoming general election in November but also shape the political landscape of Ondo State in the coming years.
