Ondo APC Governorship Primary: April 25, 2024; Appeals Scheduled for April 26

In preparation for the November 16, 2024 Ondo State governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the schedule for its primary election and appeals process.

The ruling party in Ondo State has set the primary election for April 25, 2024, with appeals from the outcome of the exercise to be heard on April 26.

The announcement was made on the party’s official X account (formerly Twitter) and signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungun.

The sale of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms will commence on April 3 and end on April 10.

The Expression of Interest form is priced at N10 million, while the Nomination Form is set at N40 million, totaling N50 million for both forms.

In an effort to encourage diversity, female aspirants and persons with disabilities are granted a discount on the Nomination Form, which is free for them.

This decision is in compliance with the Electoral Act 2022, as amended, and relevant sections of the Constitution.

The APC’s decision to release the timetable and schedule of activities for the gubernatorial election in Ondo State is in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) announcement.

As the ruling party in the state, the APC aims to ensure a transparent and fair primary election process in order to select the best candidate to represent the party in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

With the primary election scheduled for April 25 and the appeals process set for the following day, the APC in Ondo State is gearing up for a competitive and engaging contest among its members.

The party’s commitment to adhering to the Electoral Act and the Constitution demonstrates its dedication to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a smooth and transparent election.
