Ondo 2024: Female Gubernatorial Aspirant Waheed-Adekojo Ready to Step Down for Party’s Direction

One of the female governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Mrs. Funmi Waheed-Adekojo, has stated that she is willing to step down from the race if directed by the party leadership.

Addressing a press conference in Akure, she emphasized her loyalty to the party and her commitment to the people’s welfare, while also rejecting the idea of bribing individuals to vote for her in the primary election.

Waheed-Adekojo believes that the practice of zoning governorship seats has hindered the development of Ondo state and has called for a shift towards meritocracy and competence in selecting candidates.

She believes that the people of Ondo state are looking for a change and are eager to support a female candidate who can bring about positive change and development in the state.

The aspirant is determined to prioritize job and wealth creation, security, agriculture, and women and youth empowerment if elected as the state governor.

She also plans to focus on the development of a deep seaport, which she believes will boost water transportation connectivity and attract the construction of a rail line to the port, connecting Ondo state to the national rail system for the first time.

Waheed-Adekojo’s decision to step down, if directed by the party leadership, is a testament to her loyalty and commitment to the APC.

She has also declared her 100% loyalty to the party both locally and nationally, and has promised to prioritize the welfare of party members.

In her bid to become the next governor of Ondo state, Waheed-Adekojo is determined to break free from the cycle of stagnation and narrow-mindedness based on informal political agreements.

She is confident that the people of Ondo state are ready for a change and are looking forward to having a woman as their governor.
