Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, Passes Away at 82

Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has passed away at the age of 82.

The monarch, who ascended the throne of his ancestors two years ago, died on Thursday at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State expressed his condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council, and the people of Ibadanland, praying for the repose of the soul of the deceased monarch.

He described Oba Balogun as an epitome of royal excellence and a great achiever, who made significant contributions to Ibadanland during his brief reign.

The governor acknowledged that Oba Balogun was a cosmopolitan and well-experienced Olubadan, who left an indelible mark on the history of Ibadanland and achieved a great deal in a short period.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, has passed away at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of royal excellence and significant contributions to his community.

The people of Ibadanland and Oyo State mourn the loss of their beloved monarch, and Governor Seyi Makinde offers his condolences to the family, the Olubadan-in-Council, and the traditional council.
