Okowa commended for appointing Barr. Mrakpor as attorney-general

The commendation was given by a two time member of the Ughelli South Legislative Arm and former Secretary, Delta Political Vanguard, Hon. Wilson Oghenemu during a media chat with Advocate Newspaper in Warri.

Expressing his appreciation to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon. Wilson noted that the choice of Barr. Mrakpor was never a mistake but the best thing that has ever happened to the people of Ughelli South since the beginning of the Okowa administration. He applauded the governor for his foremost sight in handpicking capable personnel to man each of the ministries for fruitful results.

Speaking further, the vocal ex-law maker disclosed that some persons where against the choice of Barr. Peter Mrakpor in the local government when his appointment was announced as some sees him as a political neophyte who may have the interest of the grassroot people, but said the performances and achievements of the commissioner so far has distinguished him.

Hon. Oghenemu note that the fate of the masses on the PDP has been reawakened thrpigh the efforts of Barr. Mrakpor adding that like the biblical connotation which says the stone rejected by the builder has become the Chief corner stone, Barr. Peter Mrakpor has become a rallying point in the politics of Ughelli South as he is a core grassroot politician who cares about the plight of the people.

The Honourable states that the attorney general has affected hundreds of lives describing him as simple, humble and listening. He disclosed that the honourable commissioner has been visiting the different wards in the local government. “He don’t just visit the people, but also empowers and listen to their complaints as well”. He said hundreds of women and youths have benefitted from the Okowa government through Barr. Peter Mrakpor in Ughelli South.

Hon. Wilson who is the present Co-Ordinator of TEAM S.M.A.R.T in Ughelli South Local Government Area, further maintained that among all the appointees of the governor in Ughelli South, Barr. Peter Mrakpor is accessible and has used his office to attract more dividends of democracy to the grassroot.

The Attorney General according to him, have reconciled a large number of aggrieved PDP members that have defected before now back to the party. He thanked Barr. Mrakpor for his visit to Ovwahwa Community where over 3,000 APC membbers dumped the party for PDP . Hon. Oghenemu said it is a milestone achievement as some of where PDP members who left the party due to what they called as neglects and marginalization, but today the listening and caring Attorney General is turning things around.

While assuring Governor Okowa of their commitment to his course, Hon. Oghenemu  said the people of Ughelli South will lend their massive support to the governor in 2019. The Ughelli South Co-ordinator of Team S.M.A.R.T also used the medium to thank Governor Okowa for embarking on massive infrastructural developmental projects all over the 25 local government of the state.

He urged the governor not to be discourage by mischief makers who doea not see anything good about the PDP led government in the state.
