Ojodu LCDA Takes Action to Alleviate Hardship: Rice Distribution and Future Projects

The Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, has distributed 2,500 bags of rice and other palliatives to vulnerable residents.

The council also has plans to build a mini stadium for sporting events in the area.

The chairman of the Ojodu LCDA, David Odunmbaku, stated that the 2,500 five kilogram bags of rice were distributed to the various wards to cushion the effect of the hardship, and that more such palliatives would be distributed shortly.

He also mentioned that the council had procured 20 mini buses and employed drivers to convey workers to their offices and children to their schools.

In addition to the rice distribution, the council has continued to roll out palliatives and provide interventions in various sectors such as health, education, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure, sports, alternative energy, and more.

Odunmbaku also said that the council is committed to supporting and working collaboratively with the Lagos State Government’s Ministries on health insurance, roads rehabilitation, adopt a school program, and other initiatives for the benefit of residents.

The LCDA has also been working on infrastructure projects such as the rehabilitation of four inner roads and the construction of a mini stadium with facilities for other sporting events.

The council has also made strides in the health sector, including the rehabilitation of primary health centers and the provision of 24-hour services with alternative power supply.

In the area of education, the council has distributed back to school kits to pupils and organized coaching classes for GCE and JAMB candidates.

The council has also empowered teachers with cash gifts and provided free JAMB and GCE forms to 1,000 students.

The Ojodu LCDA has also focused on youth and women empowerment, providing training and toolkits to help them develop skills and start their own businesses.

Additionally, the council has distributed food items and cash to widows, elderly, and physically challenged people through the Widows Food Bank.

The Ojodu LCDA is making strides in alleviating the effects of economic hardship on residents by providing various forms of support and interventions in different sectors.

With plans for future projects such as the mini stadium, the council is working to improve the lives of its residents.
