Ojodu LCDA and FEBWE Join Forces to Empower Women Entrepreneurs and Advocate for Gender Inclusion

The Olusegun Odunmbaku administration in Ojodu local government area of Lagos State collaborated with the Federation of ECOWAS Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE) to organize a seminar on advocacy for gender inclusion and women entrepreneurship.

The event aimed to empower women in Ojodu LCDA and encourage their active participation in business and social development.

Distinguished speakers from FEBWE and panelists, including the Consular General of Ghana, shared their knowledge and experiences on women empowerment, gender equality, and entrepreneurship.

They discussed the challenges faced by women in starting and running a business and provided valuable insights on how to overcome these challenges.

National Coordinator of FEBWE, Mrs. Omotola Omole, and Consular General of The Ghana High Commission, Mrs. Samantha Gift Bukhari, emphasized the importance of gender inclusion in all aspects of society, from education to employment and leadership.

They also stressed the need for equal opportunities for women and the recognition of their contributions to the community’s progress.

Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, who was inaugurated as a member of FEBWE during the event, highlighted the significance of empowering women in entrepreneurship and in pursuit of gender equality.

She noted that breaking down barriers that hinder the progress of women in business paves the way for a future where every woman can thrive as an entrepreneur, innovator, and leader.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including the APC LGA Chair, Alhaja Stella Kokumo, who was also inaugurated as a FEBWE member; Ojodu LCDA APC Treasurer, Princess Lola Bashorun; Ojodu LCDA APC Women Leader, Alhaja Bukky Badmus; FEBWE executives; and Ojodu women.

This collaboration between Ojodu LCDA and FEBWE demonstrates a commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality in Nigeria’s business landscape.

By providing a platform for education, networking, and advocacy, the event has the potential to create lasting change and improve the lives of women in Ojodu LCDA and beyond.
