Ogun Traffic Corps Urges Traders to Stop Selling on Roads to Ease Gridlock

The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Ogun State has advised residents, particularly market women, to refrain from selling their goods on Ijoko road.

The move aims to ease the time spent in gridlock by motorists and prevent unnecessary loss of lives.

Tope Oseni, the Ijoko Unit Commander of TRACE, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.

He emphasized the importance of finding alternative means of selling goods to ensure a smooth flow of traffic, especially along the Ijoko under bridge.

Oseni also warned traders against displaying their wares on the highway, as it not only disrupts traffic management efforts but also puts their lives at risk.

Additionally, the unit commander urged tricycle and motorcycle operators to drive responsibly and avoid overloading, emphasizing the need for motorcyclists to use crash helmets for their safety.

TRACE has pledged to work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure safer roads for the motoring public.

The agency’s efforts are in line with the government’s commitment to improving road safety and reducing traffic congestion, which will ultimately benefit the economy and the well-being of residents.

As the agency continues to monitor and enforce traffic regulations, it is crucial for residents to cooperate and adhere to the guidelines provided.

By doing so, they contribute to a safer and more efficient road transportation system in Ogun State.
