In a strategic move to bolster the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta Central ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency Forum has constituted an inauguration planning committee to coordinate its official launch.

Speaking at a meeting in Asaba, Chairman of the forum, Olorogun John Oguma, emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen the PDP’s presence and influence within the constituency.

He noted that despite being the largest federal constituency in Delta Central with the highest number of kingdoms in Urhobo land, the PDP’s performance in the 2023 elections fell short of expectations. However, he expressed confidence that the 2027 elections would yield a different outcome, citing increased unity and commitment among party stakeholders.

Oguma urged party members to remain focused and united, stressing that the forum is open to all PDP members within the constituency. He assured the Local Government Area PDP Chairmen that the forum’s purpose is to support and reinforce the party structure, rather than compete with existing leadership.

Other party leaders, including Olorogun Eddie Ono-Sorhue (Deputy Chairman of the Forum), Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo (Senior Political Adviser to the Governor), Chief Terry Noah, and Chief Fred Majemite, reaffirmed their commitment to revitalizing the PDP’s electoral prospects in the constituency.

“With the full support of the PDP Chairmen in Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu, alongside frequent engagements within the forum, we are confident that the PDP will secure a resounding victory in 2027,” the leaders stated.

The inauguration planning committee will be chaired by the three LGA party chairmen: Hon. Jaro Egbo (Ughelli North), Hon. Lucky Avweromre (Ughelli South), and Hon. Vincent Oyibode (Udu). Additionally, various sub-committees have been formed to ensure the successful execution of the inauguration ceremony.
