Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated his predecessor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, on the occasion of his 67th birthday, describing him as an accomplished statesman whose years of dedicated public service have left an enduring imprint on the growth and development of Delta State.
In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori joined the Okowa family, friends, political associates and well-wishers in celebrating the former governor, applauding his exemplary leadership, wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to public service.
The Governor noted that Okowa's political career reflects an extraordinary journey of service, spanning several decades and strategic positions in government. He recalled that the former governor rose from serving as Secretary of the defunct Ika Local Government Council to becoming the pioneer Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Council, Commissioner, Secretary to the Delta State Government, Senator of the Federal Republic, and ultimately Governor of Delta State for two consecutive terms.
According to Oborevwori, Okowa's distinguished career, deep understanding of governance and passion for development have earned him a respected place in Delta State's political history, while his contributions continue to resonate across the state.
He observed that the former governor's administration recorded notable milestones in key sectors of the economy, laying a solid foundation that continues to support the state's development aspirations.
