Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the appointment of Olorogun Jaro Egbo as Chairman of the Board of the Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency (DESAAA), in a move aimed at strengthening regulatory efficiency and boosting internally generated revenue.
The agency will work alongside its Director-General, Hon. Sebasten Okoh, as part of renewed efforts to reposition the administration of outdoor advertising and enhance urban environmental standards across the state.
Egbo, who currently serves as Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, is widely regarded as a seasoned grassroots mobiliser with extensive experience in public service and political organisation. His appointment is seen as a strategic step to inject fresh energy into DESAAA’s operations and revenue drive.
Governor Oborevwori’s decision aligns with his administration’s MORE Agenda, which prioritises meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security.
Reacting to his appointment, Egbo expressed gratitude to the governor, describing the opportunity as a vote of confidence in his leadership.
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and sincerely appreciate His Excellency for finding me worthy to serve. This responsibility will inspire me to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Delta State,” he said.
He pledged to support the administration’s development blueprint, assuring that DESAAA under his leadership would focus on improving compliance in outdoor advertising, increasing revenue generation, and enhancing the state’s visual landscape.
“The MORE Agenda represents a practical pathway to sustainable development. I am fully committed to ensuring that government policies translate into tangible benefits for the people,” Egbo added.
Egbo also reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots mobilisation through the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, noting that the group would continue to promote citizen participation and support for progressive governance.
Observers say the appointment underscores the state government’s effort to blend administrative competence with grassroots political inclusion, particularly in key sectors such as signage regulation and urban revenue management.
With his background in local governance and mobilisation, Egbo is expected to play a pivotal role in repositioning DESAAA to meet evolving regulatory and economic demands in Delta State.
