Northern Youths Criticize Kwankwaso’s Comments on Insecurity, Cite Past Failures

The Coalition of Northern Youth Movement (CNYM) has criticized Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), for his comments on the country’s security situation.

The Northern youths accused Kwankwaso of failing to address security issues during his time as Minister of Defence and Governor of Kano State.

During a recent interview, Kwankwaso expressed concern over the worsening security crisis in Nigeria, particularly highlighting the impact on farming communities and the safety of children.

He emphasized the Nigerian Army’s potential to tackle the crisis, while also calling for a more effective response to the situation.

The CNYM, however, took issue with Kwankwaso’s comments, accusing him of promoting political extremism during his time in office, which they claim contributed to the rise of banditry in the region.

They argued that Kwankwaso’s failure to address these issues during his tenure as Minister of Defence and Governor of Kano State makes him ill-suited to offer advice to the current administration.

The statement from the CNYM also urged Kwankwaso to acknowledge his past failures and refrain from lecturing the Tinubu administration and the Armed Forces of Nigeria on how to combat terrorism.

The youth group called for unity and support for the government in its efforts to address the security challenges facing the nation.

As the debate on Nigeria’s security situation continues, the public remains divided on the best course of action to tackle the ongoing crisis.

Meanwhile, the government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians, with various measures being implemented to address the root causes of insecurity.

This development has sparked further discussions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing their opinions on the matter and calling for a comprehensive approach to addressing the country’s security challenges.
