Northern Senators Forum: Senator Sani Musa Claims Exclusion, Denies Betrayal Allegations

Within the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Sani Musa of Niger East has come out to clarify his stance on the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi State.

Senator Musa, who is a ranking member and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, has distanced himself from allegations of betrayal and claimed that he is not being treated as a member of the Northern Senators Forum.

During a debate on Tuesday, Senator Musa had distanced himself from the allegation that the 2024 budget was padded.

This statement led to accusations against him in some media outlets, with claims that he had betrayed the North.

In response, Senator Musa stated that his words were those of a responsible representative and a nationalist, committed to transparency and fair representation.

Senator Musa has expressed his unwavering commitment to promoting the interests of the North, even in his capacity as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance.

However, he has also raised concerns about not being included in crucial decisions taken by the Northern Senators Forum.

Despite his repeated attempts to address this issue with the Forum’s Secretary and the Spokesman, transparency and inclusivity have not been forthcoming.

In his statement, Senator Musa emphasized his dedication to serving his Senatorial District, the North, Nigeria, and the Senate with integrity and accountability.

He hopes that all stakeholders’ interests can be upheld through cooperation and inclusion.

The recent developments within the Northern Senators Forum highlight the importance of transparency and inclusivity in decision-making processes, particularly when it comes to regional and national interests.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the Northern Senators Forum will address Senator Musa’s concerns and work towards a more inclusive and transparent environment for all members.
