NLC President Reveals Reasons for Nationwide Protests: Addressing Hunger and Minimum Wage Concerns

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has shed light on the reasons behind the ongoing protests in Lagos, Abuja, and other parts of the country.

In a recent statement, Ajaero explained that the protests are aimed at addressing the issues of hunger and minimum wage concerns.

According to Ajaero, the current situation has led to “absolute hunger” in Nigeria, and the NLC is determined to make its voice heard.

The protests are centered on the minimum wage and the need to address the growing hunger crisis in the country.

Ajaero also highlighted the failure of the government to implement proposals put forward by the NLC following the removal of fuel subsidy.

He stated that the situation has worsened since deregulation, and the NLC’s propositions have not been taken into consideration.

The NLC President emphasized that issues such as transportation, cash transfers, and wage awards have not been addressed by the government.

These factors have significantly contributed to the rising levels of hunger and poverty in Nigeria.

The NLC-led protests in Lagos, Abuja, and other parts of the country are focused on addressing the pressing issues of hunger and minimum wage concerns.

The NLC is urging the government to take action and implement the necessary measures to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian people.
