Nigeria’s Insecurity: A Global Embarrassment, Says General TY Danjuma

Nigeria’s former Chief of Defense Staff, General Theophilus Y. Danjuma, expressed his concern over the country’s security challenges, which he believes have made Nigeria a laughing stock across the world.

The remarks were made during the annual Nwonyo Fishing and Cultural Festival in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

General Danjuma emphasized the need for the Nigerian authorities to address the security issues in order to restore the country’s image and attract both investors and tourists.

According to General Danjuma, the current state of insecurity in Nigeria has made it difficult for foreigners to feel safe while visiting or investing in the country.

He argued that the safety of roads is crucial for achieving the goal of making the Nwonyo Fishing and Cultural Festival an internationally recognized event.

Additionally, he highlighted the importance of collaboration between neighboring states, such as Taraba and Adamawa, to ensure the safety of their citizens and promote mutual cooperation.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State echoed General Danjuma’s sentiments, affirming his administration’s commitment to working closely with the Taraba State Government to address the security challenges facing the region.

The issue of insecurity in Nigeria has been a longstanding concern, with various groups and stakeholders calling for urgent action to curb the violence and create a safer environment for all.

General Danjuma’s comments serve as a reminder of the importance of addressing these challenges, not only for the well-being of the Nigerian people but also for the country’s reputation and economic prospects.
