Nigerians in a Hurry for Positive Change: Sultan Urges Unity

Nigerians are eagerly awaiting positive changes in their country, as expressed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, during the fifth anniversary of the 17th Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage-Mohammed (retd) in Lafia.
The Sultan emphasized the importance of good governance and urged Nigerians to prioritize the unity of the country, stating that secession is not the solution to the state of insecurity the nation faces.
He called on leaders at all levels to address the economic hardship and security challenges that the country is currently experiencing.
The Sultan acknowledged that there are problems in every country, and while Nigerians are in a hurry to see positive changes, he urged the people to continue to work towards ensuring the country remains one indivisible nation.
He also appealed to leaders at all levels to expedite action toward tackling the economic hardship and security challenges bedeviling the country.
Traditional rulers from across the country attended the event, demonstrating their unity and support for the Emir of Lafia.
The Sultan highlighted the presence of traditional rulers from the six geo-political zones as a sign of unity and called on other Nigerians to follow suit.
He also urged Nigerians to provide credible information about the activities of Boko Haram insurgency, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements in the north east and in other parts of the country.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State welcomed the traditional rulers and expressed gratitude for their support in his administration since 2019.
He pledged to redouble his efforts in improving the infrastructure and welfare of the people of the state.
The chief celebrant, the Emir of Lafia, expressed gratitude to God for preserving his life and thanked his people for their support in the last five years.
He also appreciated his colleagues and other well-meaning Nigerians who came from far and near to celebrate him and expressed optimism that the country would remain united.
As Nigerians continue to seek positive changes and leaders work to address the challenges facing the nation, the Sultan of Sokoto’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and good governance in achieving a prosperous and secure future for the country.
