Nigerian Army Arrests Six in Major Crackdown on Illegal Oil Bunkering in Rivers Community

In a significant breakthrough against oil theft and illegal bunkering, Nigerian troops have arrested six suspects in Rivers State.

The operation took place in the Umuedeokwara community of Etche Local Government Area, where a carefully concealed illegal oil bunkering site was discovered.

The operation, led by the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, uncovered 14 reservoirs, each containing a minimum of 200,000 liters of crude oil, translating to a staggering 3,000,000 liters of stolen crude oil.

The site also contained a network of pipes and hoses used to siphon crude oil from pipelines.
