China's ambassador to Nigeria met with the nation's power minister on Thursday to discuss deepening ties. Yu Dunhai and Joseph Tegbe explored ways to strengthen cooperation in electricity, infrastructure, and industrial development.

The talks centered on realizing outcomes from the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit. Both officials focused on concrete partnerships that could drive Nigeria's economic growth and modernization.

Yu congratulated Tegbe on his recent appointment as power minister. He praised the minister's work through the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.

Beijing remains committed to collaborating with Nigeria across key sectors, the ambassador stressed. He highlighted energy and power infrastructure as priorities for elevating their strategic partnership.

Enhanced cooperation in these areas would generate tangible benefits for both nations' citizens, Yu noted. Economic growth depends on sustained engagement, he added.

Tegbe reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to the relationship during the meeting. He described China as a vital development partner for the country.

According to him, Nigeria values China's years of support for socio-economic development. The minister expressed gratitude for Beijing's assistance to date.

Going forward, Tegbe pledged to deepen collaboration with the Chinese Embassy and relevant institutions. Priority areas include electricity infrastructure, manufacturing, and modern agricultural development.

He committed to promoting practical initiatives in these sectors. The partnership aims to deliver real, measurable results for ordinary Nigerians.
