Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili, the husband of former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has said that his dream at 70 is to see a Nigeria restructured for optimum and effective operation to benefit all citizens.

The statement was made during a symposium themed “Purposeful Men” organized to mark his 70th birthday in Abuja on Friday.

The event was attended by prominent personalities such as Pastor Tunde Bakare, former Minister of Information Frank Nweke Jr., and the founder of #FixPolitics Initiative, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili.

Pastor Ezekwesili, a member of The Everlasting Arms Parish (TEAP) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Garki, Abuja, expressed his desire to see Nigeria become the nation God designed it to be, with the glory of God shining upon it.

He emphasized that Nigeria, like a troubled house, needs restructuring and a new foundation to be set for the nation to thrive.

He believes that it will take leaders, not rulers, to take Nigeria to the right destination.

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, praised the celebrator as a model of a supportive husband and a man with an unassailable character, competence, and capacity.

He highlighted the role of Mr. Ezekwesili in standing by his wife throughout her career as an agent of disruptive change in government and a champion of the #BringBackOurGirls movement.

The former Minister of Information, Frank Nweke Jr., described Pastor Ezekwesili as a good man, a patriot, and a philosopher who inspires and mentors others, and a real father with extraordinary wisdom.

Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, the wife of the celebrator, described her husband as a super purposeful man to be emulated by the younger generation. She said that every second of his life was always meaningful and purposeful.

The founder of #FixPolitics Initiative stressed the importance of understanding purpose in both personal and public life to prevent abuse and find solutions to societal issues.

The symposium served as a platform for discussing the need for restructuring in Nigeria, and for attendees to reflect on the importance of purpose in their lives.
