NDE Empowers 70 Graduates with Entrepreneurship Skills and Starter Packs in Osun

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Osun State recently conducted a programme titled “Start Your Own Business” (SYOB) for 70 graduates.

The event, organized by the Small Scale Enterprise department of the NDE in Osun, provided entrepreneurship training and starter packs to the beneficiaries.

During the event, the director-general of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, who was represented by the Osun State coordinator, Mr. Fakunle Julius, congratulated the participants and urged them to make the most of the skills acquired and starter packs provided.

He emphasized the directorate’s commitment to supporting unemployed graduates in line with President Bola Tinubu’s New Hope Agenda, which aims to create opportunities for self-reliance and self-sufficiency.

The Head of the Small Scale Enterprise department, Mr. Rasaq Oyekanmi, encouraged participants to embrace the program and move away from the traditional mindset of seeking white-collar jobs.

He reiterated the NDE’s dedication to providing a conducive environment for young graduates to thrive and become self-sufficient and self-reliant.

The entrepreneurship training and starter packs provided by the NDE in Osun are expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, as the newly empowered graduates are likely to start their own businesses, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the growth of the state.

The NDE’s efforts in empowering 70 graduates in Osun with entrepreneurship skills and starter packs demonstrate a strong commitment to the development of human capital and the promotion of self-reliance among the youth.

This initiative is a step in the right direction, and it is hoped that similar programs will be replicated in other states to foster economic growth and development across the nation.
