Nigeria's Democratic Congress unveiled its complete roster of electoral committee members on Thursday. The party will deploy these officials to manage primaries across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, the party's national chairman, and Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, national secretary, jointly signed off on the announcement. They confirmed primaries are scheduled for May 29, 2026.
Each state committee comprises a chairman, secretary, and three additional members. Their job is to oversee elections for House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential nominations.

The NDC's move comes as opposition political parties prepare for the 2027 general elections. Primary elections will determine who represents the party at the national and subnational levels.
Political analysts note that electoral committee assignments are critical to credibility. Fair-minded selections can boost public confidence in the nomination process, they argue.
