Engineering students abducted from Nasarawa State University's Gudi Campus have been freed. Police announced the breakthrough on Tuesday.

Two suspects are in custody over the kidnapping. They're Abdullahi Yeyi Haro and Basiru Abdullahi, both from Gudi.

According to the police, Haro led the abduction gang. Operatives arrested him following intelligence-driven investigations and tactical raids.

SP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure. He said coordinated operations dismantled the criminal network responsible for the abduction.

Rescued students are receiving medical care and counseling. Officials say they're recovering from the ordeal.

CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, the state police commissioner, praised his operatives. He highlighted their professionalism and dedication to public safety.

Mohammed vowed to intensify operations against kidnappers statewide. He promised all perpetrators would face justice.

Investigations continue to trace other gang members still at large. Police are working to apprehend everyone involved in the abduction.
