Ahmed Musa, the former Super Eagles captain, has handed over N2 million to the Flying Eagles as a morale booster ahead of the WAFU B U-20 Championship. He delivered the cash gift through Abubakar Abubakar, the team's coordinator.

Musa, who played for Leicester City as a winger, urged the young players to represent Nigeria with pride at the tournament. The ex-international believes the financial support will help sharpen their focus on the competition.

Nigeria claimed victory in the previous edition of the WAFU B U-20 Championship, which took place in Niger Republic. Côte d'Ivoire will stage this year's tournament from July 26 to August 9, 2026.

The championship will serve as the qualifying stage for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. Teams across West Africa's B zone will battle for places in the continental tournament.

Musa's gesture comes at a crucial time for the Flying Eagles squad as they prepare for the regional showdown. The donation reflects his commitment to developing young Nigerian football talent.
