Ministry celebrates 10th anniversary, declares shopping spree for women

Women of Wisdom Ministry (WOW) on Saturday celebrated its 10th year in Lagos with a shopping spree for women.

Mrs Folasade Murtala, founder and President WOW, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during the 10th anniversary celebration.

She said that WOW was a vision that started in 2013, based on the mandate that it had to bring women together, meet their physical needs and tell them about the love of Jesus.

She said that what the ministry was doing right now was telling them about the love of Jesus where women would have a free shopping spree of foodstock that could last their family for about one month.

Murtala said all what the ministry was doing was just to give hope to the hopeless and let them know that Jesus really cared about them.

She said that WOW was a ministry with a lot of diversities, founded primarily as a prayer ministry and in the place of prayer; when you pray, God reveals his heart to you.

The Vice President, Mrs Anuoluwapo Jolaoso, said that God brought WOW from a very long way that they started the ministry in the days of Blackberries with just five ladies.

Jolaoso said her heart was indicting good matters for the next 10 years, by the time WOW would be celebrating 20th anniversary, it would look like an unbelievable story. Like, where is this ministry coming from?

She said that nobody could build human being without God building you.

She said that the ministry also gave loans to market women without interest and had empowered 6,000 women in 2020 in Mushin Local Government Area which were some of the things WOW did, just to ensure that people lived a better life.

A beneficiary, Miss Taiwo Bello, said that the free shopping spree was a yearly thing.

Taiwo said that the foodstuff would go a long way to feed her family and save some costs.
