Lafia Residents Plan Protest Against Poor Power Supply and High Electricity Bills in Nasarawa State

Residents of Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State, have decided to take a stand against the poor power supply and high electricity bills they have been facing for a long time.

They have planned a peaceful protest at the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) office along Makurdi Road to voice their grievances and demand change.

The decision to protest comes after a recent incident where an AEDC staff member was reportedly assaulted while attempting to disconnect power supply to a neighborhood.

This incident has further fueled the residents’ determination to demand fair treatment and better services from the electricity distribution company.

Organizers of the protest have called on all residents to join them in their fight for change.

They believe that a collective voice will have a greater impact and can lead to a brighter future for the town.

The protest is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, with the aim of drawing attention to the challenges faced by residents and to push for improved services from AEDC.

Lafia residents have been grappling with inadequate power supply and inflated electricity bills for years, and they have now reached a point where they feel it is necessary to take a stand.

The protest is a significant step towards addressing the power crisis in the area and ensuring that residents are treated fairly in terms of billing.
