Rabiu Kwankwaso visited Seriake Dickson on Sunday to discuss the NDC's future. The vice presidential candidate met with the party's national leader following a court ruling that threatened the party's registration.

A Federal High Court in Lokoja threw out its own December judgment on Friday. Justice Isah Dashen vacated the earlier order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission to register the NDC.

The judge ruled the previous proceedings were flawed because not all necessary parties were present. He noted the case, marked FHC/LKJ/CS/49/2025, lacked constitutional foundation without full participation.

Peace Movement Party had petitioned the court, claiming it had legal standing in the matter. According to the party, it should have been included before any judgment was rendered.

Opposition figures have since accused President Tinubu's administration of orchestrating the court decision. They argue the ruling aims to weaken the NDC ahead of future elections.

Dickson confirmed the meeting via Facebook on Sunday. In his words, both men "discussed issues of mutual interest concerning our party."

He stressed that NDC leadership won't accept one-party rule in Nigeria. Party officials have committed to defending democratic principles, he explained.

"We reaffirmed our resolve to stand together in the fight for multi-party democracy," the national leader posted. He added that the party is working to overcome the court's "anomalous ruling."

Dickson ended his statement on a confident note. "We are on course," he said.
