Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State wants residents to play their part in developing the state. He made the plea on Tuesday through a message marking this year's Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Emmanuel Bello, his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, delivered the message to the Muslim community. The governor called on citizens to preserve unity and reject actions that divide people along religious lines.

"Let us contribute in any little way we can towards building a Taraba of our choice," Kefas stated. He stressed that Taraba belongs to all residents and requires collective effort to advance peace and security.

According to him, the Sallah festival arrives when many families struggle economically and lack chances for quality time together. He sees the celebration as a moment for families, friends, and communities to reconnect and express affection.

Kefas urged Muslim believers to keep promoting values that encourage peaceful living and national cohesion. He warned political actors not to resort to violence as campaign activities pick up momentum.

"This is a campaign year and we must approach politics with a godly spirit," the governor noted. "We should detest violence, keep open minds, and focus campaigns on real issues rather than personal attacks," he added.

His warning targets both politicians and their supporters who may be tempted by violence during the election season. Kefas believes 2027 campaigns should reflect moral values and respect for democratic principles.
