Katsina's opposition People's Democratic Party has officially presented its three senatorial candidates for the 2027 elections. The party chairman vowed Wednesday to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress from power in the northern state.

Nura Amadi-Kurfi announced the lineup during a ceremony in Katsina town. Alhaji Hamisu Gambo-Danlawan will fly the PDP flag in Katsina Central.

Aliyu Abdulmumin-Abdullahi gets the Daura Senatorial ticket. Nura Khalil secured the Funtua Senatorial Zone nomination.

Amadi-Kurfi said the party is energized across all 34 local government areas. He expressed confidence they'll recapture the state government in 2027.

"The PDP is fully prepared to provide purposeful leadership that will address the numerous challenges facing the people of Katsina State and the country at large," he told supporters. His words reflected the party's determination to win back power.

Insecurity remains the top concern on the party's agenda. Poverty, joblessness, and crumbling social services also feature prominently in their campaign plans.

Communities across Katsina continue bleeding from security crises. Residents have lost lives, fled their homes, and seen their farms abandoned.

If elected, the chairman promised the PDP would rebuild peace and restore normalcy. Agriculture revival, education improvement, and youth employment programs would receive priority attention.

Party members got marching orders to mobilize at grassroots level. Amadi-Kurfi urged them to stay united in the race ahead.

Sen. Yakubu Lado-Danmarke, who flew the PDP's gubernatorial flag in 2023, also addressed the crowd.

He said the party remains committed to rescuing Katsina from its problems.

Lado-Danmarke insisted the three candidates have solid experience and credentials. He believes they can deliver effective representation and responsive governance to their zones.

He appealed to Katsina residents to back these candidates at the polls. Economic development, improved security, and better welfare depend on voting PDP, he argued.

Gambo-Danlawan expressed gratitude for the party's trust in him. He pledged to work with fellow candidates and stakeholders to secure victory.

In his closing remarks, the Katsina Central candidate promised quality representation. Issues affecting residents' wellbeing would be his main focus once elected, he said.
