Kano Police Investigate Gruesome Beheading of Minor by Almajiri

The Kano State Police Command is currently investigating the gruesome beheading of a minor, Mohammed Saidu, by an Almajiri named Abdullahi in Kanwa village, Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State.

The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community and has raised concerns about child safety and security in the region.

The incident came to light after a good Samaritan spotted Abdullahi, a 16-year-old Almajiri from Zamfara, with a blood-stained knife that was believed to be connected to the crime.

The headless body of 6-year-old Saidu was found in a nearby primary school.

Upon being apprehended by the villagers, the suspect was taken to the village head’s house to protect him from potential mob violence.

However, the angry mob eventually overwhelmed the village head and inflicted serious injuries on the suspect.

When the police arrived at the scene, the injured suspect reportedly confessed to the crime, admitting that he had dumped the head of the victim in a pit toilet next to the primary school.

The suspect was then taken to the Kwankwaso Cottage Hospital for treatment but tragically died as a result of the injuries sustained from the mob attack.

The remains of the victim, Mohammed Saidu, were recovered and moved to the hospital for examination before being released to his relatives for burial.

Kano State Police Commissioner, Usaini Gumel, has assured the public that the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the horrific crime.

The incident has raised questions about the safety of children in the area and the effectiveness of community policing efforts.

As the investigation continues, the Kano State Police Command has urged the public to remain calm and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

The tragic death of Mohammed Saidu serves as a stark reminder of the importance of child safety and security measures in communities across Nigeria.

The outcome of this investigation will be closely watched by the public, and it is hoped that justice will be served for the young victim and his family.

The incident has also brought attention to the need for greater support and protection for vulnerable children in the region, as well as the importance of addressing the underlying issues that may have contributed to this horrific crime.
