Jandor Remains the Leader of Lagos PDP, Says State Party Publicity Secretary

The Publicity Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Hakeem Amode, has confirmed that Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) remains the leader of the party in the state.

This statement comes amidst a controversy that arose from Adediran’s declaration of his leadership at a meeting with former members of his campaign committee and other party members.

Amode clarified that Adediran was correct in his declaration since many supposed PDP leaders in the state had renounced the party to join other parties around the 2023 general elections.

He emphasized that Adediran’s leadership does not affect the duties of the executive members of the party in the state.

The party’s publicity secretary also addressed the calls for Adediran to retract his statement and apologize to the party, stating that no such summons had been issued.

He argued that Adediran should be celebrated for keeping the flag of the party flying despite the challenges faced before, during, and after the elections.

Amode further questioned why Adediran should be asked to apologize when those who worked against the party have not been asked to do so and are even being celebrated.

He maintained that someone like Jandor ought to be celebrated rather than condemned for his efforts in upholding the party’s values and principles.

As the governorship candidate of the PDP in Lagos State in 2023, Adediran’s leadership position is well-established, and his declaration of leadership has been affirmed by the party’s publicity secretary.

With this clarification, the controversy surrounding Jandor’s statement should be put to rest, and the focus should shift towards the party’s future endeavors and efforts to strengthen its position in the state.
