Igboho Exonerates Tinubu, Blames Buhari for Nigeria’s Woes

In a visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Igboho town in Oyo State, Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has absolved President Bola Tinubu of blame for the current economic challenges in Nigeria.

Instead, he placed the responsibility on former President Muhammadu Buhari.

During his inaugural speech, President Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies, leading to a significant increase in petrol prices and subsequent economic inflation.

Additionally, the floatation of the naira as part of financial sector reforms has caused a continuous fall of the nation’s currency against the US dollar.

Igboho, who returned to Nigeria this week for the burial of his mother, S.A. Adeyemo, had previously fled to Benin Republic following a deadly night raid on his residence by the Department of State Service (DSS) in July 2021.

In his speech at the palace, Igboho emphasized the need for the Yoruba people to unite and free themselves from slavery, stating that he had been advocating for this since the time of President Buhari.

He argued that it was not President Tinubu who had spoiled the country, but rather the previous administration that had handed over a “spoiled Nigeria” to the current government.

Igboho’s remarks come at a time when many are blaming President Tinubu for the current economic hardships in the country.

However, he urged Nigerians to consider the context of the situation and the role of the previous government in creating the current challenges.

Igboho’s visit to the palace of the traditional ruler of Igboho town has shed new light on the ongoing debate about the causes of Nigeria’s economic woes.

By exonerating President Tinubu and pointing the finger at former President Buhari, he has offered a fresh perspective on the issue and encouraged the Yoruba people to unite and work towards a better future for their region.
