Governor Zulum: Why Mass Abduction of Students Has Been Curbed in Borno

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State revealed that mass abductions of school children have been successfully addressed in the state.

According to Governor Zulum, the low student abduction rate is a result of the Safe School Initiative, which has been in place for the past seven to eight years.

The Safe School Initiative involves comprehensive measures to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, and school facilities.

In Borno State, most schools are well-fenced and manned by security operatives, including the military, the Nigerian police, and other security agencies.

The state is also utilizing the services of hunters, vigilantes, and the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) to maintain a secure environment for learning.

Governor Zulum commended the efforts of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian police, and all other security agencies involved in safeguarding the schools in the state.

He emphasized that the close collaboration between these groups has been instrumental in preventing the mass abduction of students in Borno State.

The Governor’s remarks highlight the importance of proactive measures to protect educational institutions from security threats.

By implementing the Safe School Initiative, Borno State has demonstrated its commitment to providing a safe learning environment for its students and teachers.

As the security situation in Borno State continues to improve, it is crucial for the government to remain vigilant and maintain the measures that have been put in place to protect students and schools.

The success of the Safe School Initiative in the state serves as a model for other regions facing similar security challenges.

The successful curbing of mass abductions of students in Borno State is a testament to the effectiveness of the Safe School Initiative and the collaboration between various security agencies.

As the state continues to prioritize the safety of its educational institutions, it sets a positive example for other regions in Nigeria and the world.
