Governor Umo Eno Launches N200 Million Loan Scheme and Appoints Aides on Non-Indigene Matters

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has taken a significant step towards fostering unity and development within the state by instituting a N200 million interest-free loan facility and appointing key aides to oversee non-indigene matters.

The announcement was made during a special meeting with leaders of the Muslim community in the state, where Governor Eno broke the fast (Iftar) with them at the Government House, Uyo.

Alhaji Ibrahim Iliya has been appointed as the Special Assistant (SA) to the Governor on Arewa Matters in the State.

Additionally, Emmanuel Ogbole has been named the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Non-Indigene Matters, ensuring that the Yoruba, Igbo, and other Niger Delta ethnic nationalities residing in the state will also receive support and opportunities.

Governor Umo Eno expressed gratitude to the Muslim and Hausa/Fulani communities for their support during the last year’s elections and promised to extend the same level of cooperation and unity to all non-indigenes in the state.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining the harmonious relationship that has existed between the various ethnic groups in the state and encouraged peaceful coexistence among all residents.

The governor also highlighted the importance of the agricultural sector and urged the Fulani herders to conduct their business without causing damage to people’s farms.

This approach aims to ensure food security and promote peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders.

The Muslim delegation, led by the leadership of the Akwa Ibom Council of Islamic Affairs (AKCIA), commended Governor Umo Eno for his visionary approach to governance and the maintenance of peace in the state.

They also acknowledged the governor’s previous support of the Muslim community and expressed their gratitude for the invitation to join him in Government House for the Iftar.

Governor Umo Eno’s initiatives and appointments demonstrate a commitment to fostering unity and economic development within the state.

The N200 million loan facility aims to support businesses and individuals in need, while the appointment of aides on non-indigene matters ensures that all residents, regardless of their ethnic background, have access to opportunities and support.
