Governor Oyebanji Urges Traditional Rulers to Support Investors for Peace and Development in Ekiti State

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has called on traditional rulers to support private investors and government initiatives by maintaining peace and promoting development within their communities.

Addressing a one-day retreat organized by Cavista Holdings at the Ikogosi Warm Springs and Conference Center, Governor Oyebanji, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Olaiya Atibioke, emphasized the role of traditional rulers as mediators and communicators of government policies and programs to their people.

The governor highlighted the importance of traditional rulers in fostering socio-economic growth, particularly in agriculture, and urged them to take advantage of their status and position in the community to mobilize support for new investments and ensure peaceful co-existence between businesses and communities.

Governor Oyebanji commended Cavista Holdings for its commitment to the state’s advancement through its “Cassava Revolution” plan, aimed at generating employment for 10,000 youths through partnerships with local communities and Agbeyewa Farms Limited, a Cavista subsidiary.

Chairman of Cavista Holdings, Niyi John Olajide, emphasized the transformative potential of agricultural investment, affirming the company’s dedication to the state’s prosperity.

He stated that Ekiti has the potential to be a hub for cassava production, ensuring economic empowerment and food security.

The governor’s call for the support of traditional rulers and the commitment of Cavista Holdings to the state’s agricultural development demonstrate a concerted effort towards sustainable development, economic growth, and food security in Ekiti State.
