Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on the federal government to provide assistance in addressing the challenges of insecurity and flooding in the state.
During a visit by a delegation of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to the Government House in Lokoja, Governor Ododo highlighted the state’s unique position as a transit state, bordering the federal capital territory and 10 other states, and the urgent need for improved financial intervention from the federal government.
Governor Ododo emphasized that the problems of insecurity and perennial flooding, if left unaddressed, could have significant consequences not only for Kogi State but also for the federal capital Abuja and other neighboring states.
The governor’s appeal for federal assistance underscores the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments in addressing pressing issues that could impact the safety and well-being of citizens across multiple states.
