The Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe, has praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a leader with a heart of gold.
Speaking on Sunday in Asaba during a Thanksgiving service at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Oghenesivbe expressed gratitude for his recent elevation to Director General, attributing the breakthrough to Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.
Dr Oghenesivbe shared that God used Governor Oborevwori to break a long-standing period of career stagnation in his political journey, which had spanned nearly a decade within the Delta State government. He emphasized his belief in divine intervention, stating, "What God cannot do does not exist."
He recounted how, during a particularly difficult time, he sought spiritual guidance from his mentor at MFM, who recommended deliverance prayers. Following an intense period of prayer, Dr. Oghenesivbe stated that God acted through Governor Oborevwori to provide him with the long-awaited career advancement.
The new Director General shared that, despite serving for nearly eight years as Executive Assistant (EA) to the governor — seven years under the previous administration and less than one year in Oborevwori’s — many of his peers had been promoted multiple times. It wasn't until August 19, 2024, that Governor Oborevwori decided to replace his EA title with that of Director General, marking the end of his stagnation.
Dr. Oghenesivbe expressed deep gratitude to both God and Governor Oborevwori, repeatedly thanking the governor for the great honor. He pledged his loyalty and commitment to serving the administration with dedication and integrity.
"God used Governor Oborevwori to break the yoke of career stagnation in my life, bringing me immense joy. God has prepared a table for me in the presence of my detractors. Governor Oborevwori got it right, and the media was abuzz. I cannot thank him enough for this new dawn," he stated.
Dr Oghenesivbe also took a moment to address the media, urging journalists, particularly editors and publishers, to verify facts before publication. He expressed concerns over recent cases of misinformation and emphasized the importance of balanced reporting.
"As gatekeepers, editors and sub-editors must ensure accuracy. Constructive criticism is healthy and helps the government improve its service delivery. However, it's important that reports are unbiased and grounded in facts," he advised.
In conclusion, he urged his colleagues in the media to continue supporting Governor Oborevwori's administration, which, according to him, is making significant strides in infrastructure development across the state. "Governor Oborevwori is a good man with a good heart. Let's keep praying for him and working together for the good of Delta State," he added.
