Governor Alia Proposes Chairman and Members for Benue State Electoral Commission

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has submitted a list of eight individuals to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as the Chairman and members of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

The nominees include Dr John Chen as Chairman, Terhemen Shom, Theodoore Iordye Uchi, Solomon Deva, and Edache Isaac.

Additionally, Mrs Gloria Clement, Peter Ogagbola, and Dr Gisaor Vincent, who will serve as the Secretary, have been proposed for the positions.

Governor Alia stated that the nominees were selected based on their impressive track records and that they will be responsible for conducting local government elections in the state.

The Governor urged the nominees to uphold the principles of fairness, justice, and the best interest of the state while carrying out their duties.

The confirmation of these nominees by the Benue State House of Assembly will be a crucial step in ensuring the smooth and transparent conduct of local government elections in the state.
