Governor Aiyedatiwa Declares No Vacancy in Ondo Government House

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has recently declared that there is no vacancy at the Government House in Akure.

This statement came after his screening at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja on April 12, 2024.

Aiyedatiwa, who is seeking to retain his position, addressed the controversy surrounding his WAEC certificate, dismissing those who question its authenticity as mischief-makers.

The governor’s declaration comes at a time when he is set to compete with 15 other aspirants for the APC’s gubernatorial ticket in the upcoming November 16, 2024 election.

The ruling party’s primary is scheduled for April 20, 2024, and Aiyedatiwa will face stiff competition from notable figures such as Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Olusola Oke, Prof. Francis Faduyile, Dr Funmi Waheed-Adekojo, and APC National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke.

During his screening, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in his control of the state’s political structure, emphasizing that the seat he currently occupies is not vacant.

He urged his competitors to focus on working in the field rather than engaging in what he described as attempts to discredit him.

The controversy surrounding his WAEC certificate has been a point of contention among his opponents, with some alleging that it was forged.

Aiyedatiwa, however, dismissed these claims, stating that those questioning the certificate’s authenticity should repent and focus on their campaigns.

As the political landscape heats up in Ondo State, Governor Aiyedatiwa remains confident in his position and the support of the people.

The outcome of the primary election on April 20 will determine whether he will retain his seat or pass the baton to another aspirant.

The race for the Ondo State governorship promises to be an intriguing one, with several high-profile candidates vying for the opportunity to lead the state.
