Governor Adeleke Denies Spending N18 Billion on Osun Govt House Renovation

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has refuted the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) claims that his administration spent N18 billion on the renovation of the Government House.

The Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, described the allegations as fake news and clarified that the administration did not borrow N10 billion for its infrastructure projects or programs across the state, as the APC had claimed.

Governor Adeleke called on the APC to accept that it failed while it governed Osun State and be brave enough to commend the present government for succeeding where it recorded mass failure.

He emphasized that the current government has not taken any loan since its inception to pursue any program or project.

The Governor explained that his administration’s strategy was to block leakages, expand earnings, and save for projects by opening a project account dedicated to the financing of the projects.

The project in question is a multi-billion naira expenditure spread over time designed to bridge the huge infrastructure deficit inherited from the Gboyega Oyetola administration.

In response to the allegations, Governor Adeleke extended a warm welcome to the new Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, promising the maximum support of his administration in ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the people of Osun State.

As the Governor continues to work towards improving the infrastructure of the state, it is important to remain vigilant and ensure transparency in government spending.

The public should be well-informed about the government’s actions, and any allegations of corruption or mismanagement should be thoroughly investigated.
