Ganduje Remains APC Chairman After Court Ruling

Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has stated that he remains the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a court ruling that reversed his suspension by his ward executives.

Justice A. M Liman of the Federal High Court in Kano issued a court order stopping Ganduje’s suspension and barred all respondents and their agents from implementing the decisions reached at the executive meeting of the APC held at the Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area on April 15, 2024.

Ganduje expressed gratitude to the party executive members and ward officials from Ganduje Ward for their support and distancing themselves from the plot to remove him from the party’s leadership and membership.

He attributed the situation to the plan of Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to weaken the APC in the state ahead of the 2027 general election and other electoral contests.

The APC national chairman criticized the NNPP government of Kano for its alleged incursion into their political party to destroy it.

He accused the NNPP of causing increased political violence in the state and destroying political morality since assuming office.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how this development will impact the political landscape in Kano State and the broader dynamics between the APC and the NNPP.
