FRSC Establishes 200 Mobile Courts for Easter Special Patrol Operations

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has set up over 200 mobile courts to prosecute traffic offenders during the 2024 Easter special patrol operations across the country.

The move is aimed at ensuring a safe and smooth Easter celebration, according to the Corps Public Education Officer, Jonas Agwu.

In a statement released on Wednesday, FRSC Corps Marshal Dauda Biu directed commanding officers to ensure full deployment of staff for maximum visibility, prompt removal of obstructions, and ease of movement on all highways throughout the country.

The objectives of the special operations include a reduction in road traffic crashes, road traffic fatalities, and road traffic injuries, as well as prompt response to road traffic crash victims.

The FRSC will carry out aggressive enforcement during the special patrol, including conducting over 200 mobile court operations to check various offences.

These include speeding, dangerous driving/overtaking, lane indiscipline/route violation, road obstruction, use of phone while driving, and overloading.

To ensure the success of the Easter special patrol, the FRSC has deployed more than 743 patrol vehicles, 184 administrative vehicles, and 92 ambulances across the country.

The establishment of mobile courts during the Easter special patrol operations is a proactive measure by the FRSC to maintain road safety and ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the holiday season.

By prosecuting traffic offenders on the spot, the FRSC aims to deter reckless driving and promote responsible road behavior among motorists.

With increased visibility and prompt removal of obstructions, the FRSC is working towards a safer and more enjoyable Easter for all road users.
