First Lady Inaugurates Cutting-Edge ICT Centre at University of Cross River to Empower Youth

The wife of the President, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, recently inaugurated an ultramodern Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre at the University of Cross River.

Represented by the wife of the Senate President, Ekaette Akpabio, the First Lady emphasized the importance of engaging the country’s youth in the digital revolution.

She stated that the ICT Centre is a strategic step towards empowering Nigerian youth to harness opportunities in the digital world.

The facility, established through a collaborative effort between the Nigerian Information and Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the First Lady’s pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative, has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

These include high-end computers, e-learning resources, and e-learning servers with quality educational content.

During the inauguration, Mrs. Tinubu highlighted the potential of the ICT Centre to unlock the skills of the nation’s youth and prepare them for academic growth and innovation.

She underscored the importance of technology as a positive tool that is shaping human society and addressing various challenges.

The First Lady’s vision for the ICT Centre was echoed by the wife of the Cross River Governor, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu.

She commended the President’s wife and NITDA for establishing the facility, emphasizing its role in enhancing technological skills among Nigerian youth.

The First Lady’s initiative to establish the ICT Centre at the University of Cross River represents a significant step in empowering the country’s youth with the necessary skills and resources to participate in the digital revolution.
